Easter Event – Grab & Go Treat Bags

Come and celebrate the Easter season with your neighbors and fellow community members!  We all know that so many things that children enjoy have been cancelled, so lets keep this tradition alive.  This year’s event will look a little different than the typical Easter egg hunt that has occurred in the past, but The Delmont Recreation Committee is proud to sponsor a grab & go event for the children of the area.  The Delmont Public Library will be there with a craft and the Salvation Army Canteen will be there to provide refreshments.  Pre-registration by March 14th is required so we are sure that we have enough treats for everyone. To register, fill out this form.  We ask that all attendees practice recommended social distancing.

Grand Opening of the New Delmont Public Library

The New library is officially opened!  For a listing of hours and to find out about the library, visit the library’s website here.  A great success for our community and a wonderful new building with plenty of opportunities for all members of the public.  Read more about the grand opening here.

Monticello Lights

Denni Grassel, Delmont Library Director, accepts a check for $7, 798.97 from Eliana Bruno, 8, of the Monticello neighborhood. Instead of their annual Christmas party, the neighbors held a Monticello Lights drive around display the second week in December. Proceeds were split between the Delmont Library and WTAE’s Project Bundle Up.  Read more about the Monticello Lights here.

Delmont Veteran Banners – Hometown Heroes

We often see other boroughs honoring their residents who served our country’s military and would like to see Delmont honor its hometown heroes. If you are interested in purchasing a veteran banner to honor a family member who served in the U.S. Military, please fill out the form below. These banners will be hung along Greensburg Street from Memorial Day through Veterans Day each year. The cost for each will be about $110.

We are only collecting your information right now to gauge the interest. Once the printer is able to start producing these, we will contact you and at that time you will need to bring a photo and payment to the borough building. Your photo will be returned to you once the banners have arrived.

Priority will be given to Delmont Borough residents.

Here is the link to the form:

The form will ask for your name, phone number, address — Rank and Name of Service Member, Branch of Service, Years of Service and Major Champaign (i.e., WWII, Vietnam, Desert Storm)

Questions may be addressed to Council V.P. Bill Marx –
