Through the use of grant funds provided by DCNR, in 2025 Delmont Borough undertook the process of developing a Master Site Development Plan for Shield Farm. Multiple public meetings were held as well as input provided through a survey. The results of that input were consolidated into the Master Site Development Plan that can be used to guide the development of the Shields Farm property while pursuing available funding resources. The plan was developed with the intent to maintain the open-ness of the property as well as the historical feel while improving the property to allow for more people to enjoy the park year round.
